Scooter rider's death prompts witness appeal

A scooter rider has died in a crash in Rutland.
Leicestershire Police said the single-vehicle crash happened on the A6003 Uppingham Road near Preston at about 00:35 GMT on Sunday.
The male rider of the black Aprilia SR GT scooter died at the scene, the force added.
Officers have appealed for witnesses and said they were particularly keen to speak to the occupants of two vehicles travelling towards Preston immediately after the crash, and a man who stopped to provide emergency first-aid to the rider.
