Jersey Business said it would be putting "more focus" into start-up companies to help enhance efficiency and productivity in Jersey.

The company, which supports island businesses with independent and confidential advice, said it aimed to increase its support by 50% in 2025.

The company will be delivering the government's Better Business Support Package (BBSP) when it launches in March and already manage the Agricultural Loans Fund.

It said the initiatives would help support and develop the rural and visitor economy and the retail sector.

Paul Murphy, CEO of Jersey Business, said last year was focused on generating a "greater return" from government investment.

He said: "Our data showed that we helped more businesses, but not only that, it shows that the engagement we had with industry was more targeted and effective.

"All the 135 business leaders who attended or had access to our programmes said that their business had grown or was more resilient."

Mr Murphy said its work would boost the "overall performance of our economy".
