Museum's reopening hit by further delay

A museum's full reopening has been pushed back for the fourth time due to delays in its redevelopment.
Tullie in Carlisle shut in December 2023 to allow for a £4.5m makeover and was due to reopen last summer, but that was delayed to the autumn.
The museum partly reopened in November, with a view to fully reopening on 15 February, but now the museum said the "complex" redevelopment work had overrun.
Andrew Mackay, director at Tullie, said despite the setback there was "lots going on", including a weekend of free activities planned for half term and the reopening of the cafe.
He said: "We had intended to open the new spaces sooner, however it's far more important that things are done right."
Redevelopment work includes the creation of a welcome area, shop and the new Carlisle Gallery.
Mr Mackay added Tullie's other galleries were all open, with an exhibition about Cumbrian artist Sheila Fell open until 16 March.
He added: "We are confident the new spaces will be of an excellent standard and a great addition to the city."
