A large cannabis farm has been found inside a former department store building in Bradford city centre.

Police discovered about 4,000 cannabis plants when officers were called to reports of a burglary at the former Sunwin House building, in Sunbridge Road, at 06:45 BST on Sunday.

West Yorkshire Police said a 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of producing a Class B drug.

A 39-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possessing criminal property, conspiring to produce a Class B drug and possession of a Class B drug.

Both men remain in police custody for questioning, with inquiries ongoing.

The art deco building is a landmark in the city, which earlier this year was added to a list of notable buildings in Britain considered to be currently "at risk" by the 20th Century Society.

The building was most recently used as a TJ Hughes department store after Sunwin House went into administration in 2011.
