An HGV driver has pleaded guilty to causing the death of a woman in a crash on the M1 in West Yorkshire.

Michael Parr, 57, admitted causing death by careless driving and causing serious injury by driving without due care and attention when he appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court earlier.

Donna Sowerby was killed on the M1 northbound near Garforth on 20 July 2022, while Anthony Harratt was seriously injured.

Parr, of Brickyard Cottage in Louth, Lincolnshire, was granted unconditional bail with an interim driving ban ahead of his sentencing at Leeds Crown Court on 29 July.
