A man has been arrested on suspicion of kidnap after a teenager was allegedly held against her will in woods in Nottinghamshire.

Police were called to Whinney Lane, New Ollerton, at 6.20pm on 17 July after the girl was approached in nearby Boughton Brake.

The girl was released unharmed a short time later and raised the alarm.

On Friday, a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of kidnap and sexual assault.

He has since been released on police bail.

A 30-year-old was previously arrested on suspicion of an offence under the child abduction act soon after the alleged attack.

He was also released and remains under police bail.

Det Sgt Karl Aram said: “We have been working intensively over the last couple of weeks to identify a suspect in this case, and I am pleased we have now made this arrest.

“Our investigation into what happened will now continue.”
