Hythe Ferry service suspended for repairs
- Published
A ferry service has been suspended for the foreseeable future after the pontoon and its supporting structure were found to be damaged.
The passenger link which connects Hythe and Southampton is now owned by Isle of Wight ferry operator Red Funnel.
A message on the Hythe Ferry website said damage to the dolphin piling needed to be checked by engineers and necessary repairs carried out.
It apologised to travellers for the disruption and said it would update them with a timeline of repairs once it had more information.
