A family has paid tribute to a "loving, kind" grandad who was killed in a crash.
Walter Nightingale, 86, died after he was hit by a car in Blackburn on Saturday.
Officers were called to King Street where it was established that the driver of a grey Seat Ibiza struck the man at 15:40 GMT, Lancashire Police said.
His family said: "Walter was a loving, kind man who was the father to Lisa and Iain, father-in-law to Graham and grandad to Alexander. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him."
The force said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances that led to the incident.
Sgt Josh Begbie of Lancashire Police: "I'm continuing to ask anyone with information or footage to make contact with the police as soon as possible.
"I am particularly keen for anyone with dashcam footage who travelled along King Street near to the junction with Stonyhurst Road between 15.30 and 15.40 to get in contact, even if you didn't witness the collision."
