A rugby club has carried out a full refurbishment of its facilities and is putting the finishing touches to its grand re-opening event.

The work at Malvern Rugby Club at its Spring Lane base was funded by investment more than £300,000 from Malvern Hills District Council and funds coming from the Rugby Football Union.

Changing rooms have been refurbished and the club has also installed green energy technology, including solar panels and floodlights, while inefficient kitchen appliances have been replaced.

The opening event later will take place ahead of the first game of the Women's Rugby World Cup, when England play the US in Sunderland, external.
