Man in court over sexual assault of boy at campsite

A 44-year-old man has appeared in court charged in connection with the sexual assault of an eight-year-old boy at a campsite in the Highlands.

John Bell, from Grangemouth, appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court charged with sexual assault of a young child. He made no plea.

He was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.

Police were told the boy was approached inside his tent at the Loch Ness Bay campsite in Drumnadrochit between 00:20 and 01:00 on 31 July.
