What did she say?! Talking doll Cayla is hacked
Cayla is a child's doll that is able to respond to questions - and strike up a conversation.
But security researcher Ken Munro, from Pen Test Partners, has discovered a vulnerability in Cayla's software which allows for it to be hacked, and essentially say any number of things.
He demonstrated the hack to the BBC's Rory Cellan-Jones.
The Vivid Toy group which distributes Cayla said the hacking was an isolated example carried out by a specialist team - but nevertheless the company would take the information on board as it was able to upgrade the app used with the doll.
You can hear more about this hack on this week's edition of Tech Tent on the BBC World Service. The show broadcasts live, every Friday, at 1630 GMT. You can listen again here, or download the podcast.
