Coping with a miscarriage: "It can be a very lonely place"

A woman from the Black Country who has had five miscarriages has welcomed plans to open the UK's first national research centre dedicated to understanding why it happens.

The centre is funded by Tommy's baby charity, in partnership with the University of Birmingham, University of Warwick and Imperial College London.

Clare Summan, 35, from Wednesbury, had miscarriages before and after giving birth to her three children and said: "It can be a very lonely place".

"I used to sit and watch One Born Every Minute and that was my time to grieve."
