Runner: North Korean marathon was 'quite funny'

Foreign amateur runners have been allowed to compete in a North Korean marathon for the first time in 30 years.

Around 200 entrants from around the world took to the nation's capital, Pyongyang, for the 26.2 mile race.

Despite strict guidelines regarding finishing times and dress, runner Vicky Mohieddeen, said the marathon was "really quite funny."

She told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast: "The kids were holding out their hands for high fives and the old ladies were cheering us on... it did get me going."
