Fifth leg no obstacle

French sheep farmer Yvan Delage caused a media stir earlier this year when he announced the birth of a five-legged lamb, and now he's back in the news offering it for sale online.

Delage, of Condeon in the south-western region of Poitou-Charentes, told his local newspaper Charente Libre, external he can't bring himself to send the sheep to the slaughterhouse, and hopes a "wildlife park or school" might adopt her.

He is advertising the sheep, which has no name, on the classified ads site Le Bon Coin, external under the heading "For sale: Unusual sheep with five legs".

"The fifth leg is withered and serves no purpose, but is not a handicap in any way," says the advert, which sets a reserve price of 200 euros or above.
