Newspaper headlines: 'Fury at Sussexes'' and PM 'abandons' housing goals

There's an angry reaction to the latest Netflix trailer for the Sussexes' upcoming documentary.

The Daily Mail talks of "fury" at the couple's claim of a "war against Meghan", external - and suggests the series will reveal what it calls "their staggering distortions".

It's one of several papers to also show the same picture from the trailer - of the Duchess wiping away tears as her husband looks on.

"Fact or fantasy?", external asks the Daily Mirror, alongside another picture of Prince Harry with a hand over his eyes and his wife - heavily pregnant - in the background.

The Sun claims the couple have been caught in a "fakery storm" - as a scene supposedly showing them being hounded by the media is actually a press pack snapping the former glamour model, Katie Price, at court.

The Daily Express headline declares it's "all-out war" now that Prince Harry has accused the Royal Family of playing a "dirty game", external.

Writing in the paper, the royal author, Phil Dampier, makes a pointed reference to Harry's forthcoming memoir called "Spare" - saying he's starting to worry that the Prince himself "has gone spare".

The Daily Star continues a long-running series of digs at the Sussexes, external, calling them "Their Royal Shynesses".

It suggests it will be worth getting "the popcorn in" for the "fireworks" it expects will go off on Thursday when the documentary starts being broadcast.

Elsewhere, the Times accuses the RMT union of delivering "more misery" with news of a strike beginning on Christmas Eve, external.

It says millions will have their Christmas travel "ruined" - with the new phase of industrial action disrupting what would normally be one of the busiest days of the year on the network.

In a different story about the railways, the Metro claims that train companies are using loopholes to axe thousands of services, external, without officially recording them.

The paper calls it the "Ghost train tickets scandal" - saying that travellers had been sold tickets for the cancelled trains.

The i says that antibiotics could be given to entire year groups in schools where there has been a case of Strep A, external.

It adds that local health bodies have been given prescribing powers after an eighth child died in the outbreak.

Several papers report that Eddie Jones could be "ditched" as head coach of the England men's rugby union team - following what the Telegraph calls a "dismal autumn series", external.

The Guardian says the Rugby Football Union has refused to comment publicly on the findings of a review, but says Leicester's head coach, Steve Borthwick, is the frontrunner, external.

The Mirror believes Jones is "edding" for the exit, external.

And there's widespread praise for England's men's cricketers after their last-gasp victory in the first Test against Pakistan.

It was "mind blowing", according to both the Guardian, external and the Times, external.

"Simply stunning," says the Star.

The Sun asserts that Ben Stokes' performance was "nothing short of sensational". And the paper declares he could be England's "greatest skipper" of all time, external.
