Newspaper headlines: King 'grateful' cancer caught early and 'women dominate Grammys'

The King's cancer diagnosis is featured on all of Tuesday's front pages. The Times, the Daily Telegraph, the Daily Mirror, the Daily Express and the Sun have the same picture of the monarch in a blue chalk-stripe suit, which was taken during his state visit to France last year, but released by the Palace on Monday.

The Sun describes, external the nation as being in shock. The i reports, external that the announcement abandons royal protocol. The Times reveals, external that insiders felt the news could not stay secret for long given the King had started attending treatment. But commentary on the front of the Telegraph, external says it is typical of the King's openness that he would share the news.

The Daily Mirror says, external doctors hope it will encourage those with signs of the disease to seek treatment. A GP in the paper writes it shows cancer is indiscriminate and there is no shame in seeking help.

The Times understands the disease has been caught at an early stage. Analysis inside the paper says by not revealing the type of cancer he has, the King is arguably throwing his arms around everyone with any variation of the disease. But it says it also runs the risk of many assuming the condition is more sinister than the Palace is letting on.

The Daily Mail,, external the Metro, and the Daily Star are among the papers to mention that the Duke of Sussex is due to fly back to the UK. The Mail asks whether the King's diagnosis will spur a reconciliation between his sons.

The Daily Mirror's royal editor says those close to Prince Harry have routinely stressed to him the desire to repair relations, and says the King has constantly declared his love for his children. But the piece also says the Prince of Wales still feels aggrieved by his brother's statements, and is unlikely to share the confidence of some Palace staff that love conquers all.

The Guardian, external is one of the few papers not to feature a picture of the King on its front page - instead choosing one of Taylor Swift - who it says made history at the Grammys by becoming the only artist to win album of the year four times.
