Here's my report on Brazil's preparations for the World Cup in 2014.
It is a familiar tale. With three years to go they are running behind schedule and costs are rising. But chances are, as usual, they will pull it off at the last minute.
There is a broader point, however. Many of the problems the World Cup organisers are facing, such as poor infrastructure and red tape, are ones that have been holding back Brazil's economy for decades.
