BBA names Anthony Browne as its new chief executive

The British Bankers' Association (BBA) has announced that Anthony Browne, who currently works for Morgan Stanley, will be its next chief executive.

Mr Browne, who was a former adviser to London mayor Boris Johnson, will replace the current BBA head, Angela Knight, in September.

Ms Knight announced in April that she would be standing down after five years in the post.

The BBA is the industry body that represents the UK's banks.

Mr Browne is currently Morgan Stanley's head of government relations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

He was also previously a journalist, working at the Times, the Observer and the BBC.
