Ford to unveil its first solar-powered car

Ford is to unveil its first solar-power car at a Las Vegas electronics convention.

The Ford C-Max Solar Energi Concept has a solar panel system on the roof which tracks the Sun's position.

The prototype car is said to be able to travel for 21 miles once fully charged.

Mike Tinskey, Ford's lead executive for the car, told BBC Radio 5 live's Drive: "When you actually park this vehicle under a purpose designed concentrator... we're able to get that car to be powered 100% by renewable energy."
