Secondary league tables 2012: Lowest GCSE results

  • Published

This table lists the 200 state secondary schools in England with the lowest attainment at GCSE level.

The schools are ranked on the percentage of pupils attaining five A*-C passes in GCSE or equivalent qualifications, including maths and English GCSEs. The average number of points scored per pupil is then used as a tie break where schools have the same result.

Schools marked AC are academies, schools with fewer than 30 pupils are not included.

Pate's Grammar school, a high-achieving selective school in Cheltenham, scored 0% because pupils sat new English exams which the Department for Education does not recognise for the purpose of performance data.

Similarly, Rushden Community College in Northamptonshire, scoring 6%, had entered pupils for English exams not counted by the DfE.
