Follow the Welsh Assembly election with BBC Wales

BBC Wales has unveiled its coverage plans for the Welsh Assembly election campaign with TV and radio shows set to head on the road.

The broadcaster will measure the temperature among constituents in a series of events during April.

BBC One Wales, S4C, Radio Wales and Radio Cymru will offer comprehensive coverage led by a team of expert presenters and correspondents.

Digital coverage will also be provided online and on mobile.

Mark O'Callaghan, BBC Wales' head of news and current affairs, said: "In the run-up to 5 May, our teams will be on the road, bringing all kinds of people together with the election hopefuls to spark some real scrutiny and in-depth debate."

Dates and locations for the tour's BBC tent, open from 07:00 BST, are as follows:

• Monday 18 April: Castle Square, Haverfordwest

• Wednesday 20 April: Outside Y Plas, Machynlleth

• Friday 22 April: Queen's Square, Wrexham

• Monday 25 April: Outside the visitor centre, Caerphilly

• Wednesday 27 April: The Hayes, Cardiff

• Friday 29 April: Southend Gardens, Mumbles

There will be an opportunity for audiences to visit the tent to meet BBC Wales presenters and have their say on local and national issues.

Debates

On 27 April, Huw Edwards will present the BBC Wales Leaders' Debate from St David's Hall in Cardiff. The programme will be shown live on BBC One Wales and the BBC News Channel at 20:30 BST.

Leaders of Welsh Labour, the Welsh Conservatives, the Welsh Liberal Democrats, Plaid Cymru, UKIP Wales and the Wales Green Party have been invited to take part.

Party leaders have already faced questions from the public in a series of Ask the Leader programmes on BBC One Wales. Pawb a'i Farn on S4C will also host three election debates.

Bethan Rhys Roberts and BBC Wales political editor Nick Servini will present the BBC One Wales' results programme on 5 May and 6 May.

Dewi Llwyd and BBC Wales Welsh affairs editor Vaughan Roderick will host results on S4C.
