Zsa Zsa Gabor remains in a critical condition after receiving a blood transfusion, her husband has said.

Prince Frederic von Anhalt said doctors were hopeful new medication would help the 93-year-old actress recover.

Gabor broke her hip after she fell out of bed last weekend at her Bel-Air home. She had hip replacement surgery on Monday.

Von Anhalt said his his wife was conscious and was able to whisper a few words following Friday's transfusion.

The Hungarian-born actress fell out of bed when she tried to answer a phone call and broke several bones.

Gabor has used a wheelchair since 2002 when she was involved in a car accident.
