Radio 3 announces Mozart season

Mozart composed more than 600 known pieces of music before his death in 1791 aged 35
BBC Radio 3 is to play nothing but music by Mozart for the first 12 days of January, it has been announced.
The Genius of Mozart season, which follows Beethoven and Bach celebrations in previous years, will also feature documentaries and live performances.
Sir Peter Hall's 1983 production of Peter Shaffer's Amadeus starring Simon Callow will also be aired. It was later turned into an Oscar-winning film.
Dame Kiri Te Kanawa will present a show on her favourite Mozart arias.
Other highlights will include drivetime programme A History Of Mozart In A Dozen Objects and a special 700th edition of Private Passions, with former guests discussing their favourite Mozart pieces.
BBC orchestras and the BBC Singers will also be performing Mozart at venues across the country.
Meanwhile, BBC Four will show conductor Charles Hazlewood's TV series Mozart Uncovered as well as Proms highlights of the composer's work.
Radio 3 controller Roger Wright said the "all-encompassing season" would celebrate the work of "a prolific genius".
