Comedian Michael McIntyre and former Baywatch star David Hasselhoff will join Amanda Holden as judges on the new series of Britain's Got Talent.

The stars are to replace Piers Morgan, who has landed a primetime US chat show. Simon Cowell will return as a judge during the live stage of the contest.

McIntyre said he was "extremely excited" about his new role.

Dance troupe Spelbound were the winners of this year's series.

"I'm a massive fan of Britain's Got Talent and am extremely excited to be a judge on the new series," McIntyre said.

"I was so thrilled when Simon Cowell asked me that I immediately wanted to run in to Ant (McPartlin) and Dec's (Donnelly) arms to celebrate."

Hasselhoff, who made his name in Knight Rider before starring in Baywatch, has appeared as a judge on America's Got Talent.
