Jo Shapcott's poetry wins Costa Book of the Year Award

Jo Shapcott has won the 2010 Costa Book of the Year Award for her new collection of poems, Of Mutability.

The writer, who wrote the book while being treated for breast cancer, said she accepted the award on behalf of poetry as a genre.

It is the second year in a row a book of poetry has won the competition.

Publisher and broadcaster Andrew Neil told the BBC's Nick Higham that the judges were "captivated" by the book.
