Edward Albee to win lifetime award for writing

Albee has won three Tony Awards including a lifetime achievement award
Playwright Edward Albee is to receive the Edward MacDowell Medal for lifetime achievement, award organisers have announced.
The three-time Pulitzer Prize winner will become only the third playwright to receive the annual award since it was first handed out in 1960.
The 83-year-old's best known works include Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? and A Delicate Balance.
He will be presented with the prize on 14 August.
The MacDowell Colony presents the award to an artist who has made an outstanding contribution in his or her field.
Previous winners of the MacDowell medal include Merce Cunningham, Thornton Wilder and Leonard Bernstein.
Albee has won three Tony Awards - including a lifetime achievement award - and was presented with the National Medal of Arts in 1996.
