Chat show rivals Jonathan Ross and Graham Norton are to battle it out at the National TV Awards in January.

The duo are up against each other in the best talk show category, a year after Ross left the BBC and Norton's show was moved to his old timeslot.

Alan Carr, Piers Morgan, Paul O'Grady, Rob Brydon and Alan Titchmarsh are also up for the prize.

Meanwhile Ant and Dec could win the most popular entertainment presenter award for the 11th year running.

Their competition includes Sir Bruce Forsyth, Adrian Chiles, Philip Schofield and Davina McCall.

The Geordie duo also see nominations for four shows they are associated with - Britain's Got Talent, I'm A Celebrity, Saturday Night Takeaway and their latest gameshow Red Or Black?

Shows in the running for best drama include Upstairs, Downstairs and Downton Abbey.

Spooks, Doc Martin, Doctor Who and Lark Rise To Candleford are also nominated.

First time nominees include The Only Way Is Essex and Made in Chelsea. They will compete against The Apprentice, Come Dine With Me and Channel 5's reboot of Celebrity Big Brother for the reality award.

Dermot O'Leary - among the contenders for the best entertainment presenter prize - will host the awards at the O2 in January.

The winners are chosen by public vote, with full details of nominees on the ceremony's official website.

Last year's ceremony culminated with a special recognition award for Strictly Come Dancing host Sir Bruce Forsyth, marking his five-decade TV career.
