Brendan Cole is to replace an injured dancer for the second time this year on Strictly Come Dancing.

Cole, who lost his place on the competition on 6 November, will replace Anita Dobson's partner Robin Windsor, who has contracted a foot infection.

Cole originally danced with Lulu, and also partnered Holly Valance when Artem Chigvintsev hurt his back in training.

On his Twitter page, Windsor said: "I'm absolutely devastated that I won't be able to dance this week."

"Thank you Brendan Cole for stepping in once again."

Cole tweeted that he would "dance his socks off" for Dobson and Windsor's fans.

He added that Windsor "has a very serious infection on one of his feet. [His] foot's the size of a balloon, so no dancing".

"We wish Robin a very speedy recovery and the best of luck to Anita and Brendan," said a statement from producers on the official Strictly website.

There are now seven celebrities left in the competition, which culminates just before Christmas.

As well as Dobson, the contestants are Holly Valance, Chelsee Healey, Jason Donovan, Harry Judd, Alex Jones and Robbie Savage.
