Sian Williams presents her final Breakfast programme

Presenter Sian Williams has hosted her final BBC Breakfast show as she leaves ahead of the programme's move to Salford.

Williams joined the show in 2001 along with co-presenter Bill Turnbull.

She declined to relocate after plans to produce the show from the BBC's Salford studio were announced, saying she could not uproot her family.

Turnbull will continue when it moves, alongside Susanna Reid, who already presents weekend Breakfast.

Williams will rejoin Radio 4 for a revamped Saturday Live programme, as well as presenting BBC One bulletins and Olympics coverage.

Former poet laureate Andrew Motion was among the guests who appeared on her final Breakfast show, dedicating a poem to the presenter.

At the end of the programme, Williams thanked the viewers for their loyalty.

"You've been such a wonderful audience, thank you very, very much, I will miss you hugely."
