Military Wives top albums chart

The Military Wives have topped the album chart with their debut collection In My Dreams, according to the Official UK Charts Company.

The group, formed by choirmaster Gareth Malone, entered the chart at two last week. Their hit follows their Christmas number one single Wherever You Are.

There was a new entry at four for Home Again, by Michael Kiwanuka, who came top of the BBC's Sound Of 2012 list.

Gotye remains top of the singles chart with Somebody That I Used To Know.

The Military Wives, who were formed for BBC series The Choir, feature covers of songs including U2's With Or Without You and Coldplay's Fix You on their album.

Last week's number one, Bruce Springsteen's Wrecking Ball, fell to number five, while there were new entries for acts including X Factor runner-up Marcus Collins - whose self-titled debut album went in at seven.

Michael Bolton's greatest hits collection Gems was a new entry, at 11, while Jason Donovan's Sign of Your Love, an attempt to capitalise on his Strictly Come Dancing renaissance, only managed number 36.

Donovan's album features jazz standards, including Every Time We Say Goodbye and They Can't Take That Away From Me, as well as new songs.

In the singles chart, US rapper/singer Nicki Minaj climbed a place to number two, with Starships, while former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke's Elephant was a new entry, at three.

There were also new entries from dance producers Swedish House Mafia, with Greyhound, at 13, and singer-songwriter Jason Mraz, with I Won't Give Up, at 16.
