Tyler James, Vince Kidd, Leanne Mitchell and Bo Bruce are through to the final of BBC One's The Voice.

The artists will sing with their celebrity mentors in next Saturday's live final, after winning the most number of public votes in their teams.

Two of the most popular artists - Ruth Brown and Jaz Ellington - were among the four who missed out.

The semi-final was watched by 4.5m people, the lowest number of viewers so far in the series.

Becky Hill and Max Milner also missed out on a place in the final.

Saturday's semi-final also featured performances from former X-Factor judge Cheryl Cole, and Kylie Minogue.

Bookies' favourite

Only one act from each of the teams - coached by Sir Tom Jones, Will.i.am, Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue - could progress through to the final.

The decision was made based on the public vote alone.

Ms Brown - the bookmakers' favourite to win the competition - failed to win over the public with her version of The Voice Within, a hit for American vocalist Christina Aguilera.

Her coach, Sir Tom Jones, did however pledge to do everything in his power to "make her a star".

Ms Brown's teammate Ms Mitchell went through after wowing the audience with an emotional rendition of Whitney Houston's Run To You.

On Will's team, the public preferred the pink-suited Tyler James' version of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody over Jaz Ellington's interpretation of the Beatles' Let It Be.

From the remaining acts on team Jessie, Becky Hill bowed out after singing a stripped down version of Corrine Bailey Rae's Like a Star.

Vince Kidd will represent Jessie J in the final, after impressing with his version of Back To Black by the late Amy Winehouse.

Bo Bruce - who has been declared the bookies' new favourite - will be Team Danny's finalist after beating Max Milner.

All the remaining artists will duet with their mentors in next Saturday's live final.
