London rapper and producer Labrinth has shot to the top of the UK singles chart with Beneath Your Beautiful, his duet with Scottish singer Emeli Sande.

Labrinth - real name Tim McKenzie - knocked Calvin Harris and Florence Welsh's Sweet Nothing off the top spot to score his first number one single.

Sande appears again in this week's Top 10 - in 10th place - with Wonder, her collaboration with rapper Naughty Boy.

US country star Taylor Swift tops the album chart with her latest record Red.

The disc is the fourth studio album from the 22-year-old performer and features her hit single We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.

The album was said to be outselling its nearest rival, the deluxe version of Sande's Our Version Of Events, by two to one earlier this week.

Other new entries in this week's album countdown include Bad Intentions, from former N-Dubz star Dappy, which made its debut at six.

His record charted one place ahead of another newcomer - Songs From The Movies and More, the latest release from the veteran Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell.

Labrinth's song, which was at number 85 in last weekend's singles chart, enjoyed a huge sales boost after he and Sande performed it live on last Sunday's X Factor results show.

Boy band JLS, X Factor runners-up in 2008, have another Top 10 single this week with Hottest Girl In The World, a new entry at number six.
