Rudimental tops UK singles chart with Waiting All Night

Drum and bass collective, Rudimental have topped the UK music chart with their new single Waiting All Night featuring Ella Eyre.

It knocked Duke Dumont and A*M*E's Need U (100%) off the top spot.

Daft Punk's first new single in eight years, Get Lucky, stormed into the chart at number three, after selling 50,000 records in 48 hours.

Rudimental's Piers Aggett said it was "unreal" the group had achieved a second number one in 12 months.

"Just over a year ago, we were walking in normal jobs, we're so thankful that our career's taken off like this," added bandmate Amir Amor.

The single, featuring singer Ella Eyre, sold almost 38,000 copies, keeping Will.I.Am's latest single That Power featuring Justin Bieber from the top of the charts.

Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead, which was at the centre of an online campaign by opponents of Baroness Thatcher, dropped out of the top 40 to number 65 in the singles chart after it entered at number two last week.

Elsewhere in the official singles chart Brit award-winner Emeli Sande's Read All About It Part 3 is this week's highest climber.

South Korean pop sensation PSY's follow-up to Gangnam Style, Gentlemen, rose 51 places to enter at number 10.

The track is up 70 places to 17 after Hungarian shadow theatre troupe, Attraction, performed their routine to it on ITV's Britain's Got Talent last weekend.

Grammy award-winning singer Michael Buble topped the album chart with his third UK number one record in a row, To Be Loved.

Buble's eighth studio album is the fastest selling album of the year with 121,000 sales outselling the rest of the Top 5 combined.

To Be Loved is the follow-up to the Canadian singer's Christmas album, which has sold over 1.8 million copies in the UK since its release in October 2011.

American rock band Fall Out Boy entered at number two in the album chart with with their fifth record, Save Rock And Roll.

New York rockers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, claimed their third consecutive top 10 album as their latest release, Mosquito, entered at number nine.
