Bill Nighy nominated for British Animation Award

Nighy was nominated for his voicing of a corpse in a short film

Love Actually star Bill Nighy, Peppa Pig and Shaun the Sheep have all been nominated for British Animation Awards.

Nighy's work in the short film The Hungry Corpse has been shortlisted.

Shaun the Sheep and Peppa Pig are up for best children's series and pre-school series respectively.

Also nominated in the best voice performance category are comedienne Morwenna Banks, for Queen Marigold in Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom, and Tim Dann for Compost Corner.

ITV's Compost Corner is also up against Shaun the Sheep for best children's series, alongside Cartoon Network's Amazing World of Gumball.

In the pre-school series category, Peppa Pig faces competition from CBeebies' Q Pootle 5 and Sarah & Duck.

Channel 4's The Snowman and the Snowdog is competing for the best long form animation against BBC One's Room On The Broom and Aardman's The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists.

Competing in the category of best animated music video are Marshal Dear from Savages and Benjamin Scheuer's The Lion, Atoms For Peace's Before Your Very Eyes.

The awards ceremony takes place on 7 March at the BFI on London's South Bank.
