TV drama Silk in radio spin-off

The stars of BBC legal drama Silk will appear in a series of spin-offs on BBC Radio 4.

Silk: The Clerks' Room will run in Radio 4's afternoon drama slot, produced by the creative team behind the TV show.

Each of the three episodes will focus on one of chambers' legal clerks: Jake (Theo Barklem-Biggs), Bethany (Amy Wren) and John (John Macmillan).

The first episode will air on 1 April, shortly after the TV series concludes.

Further productions will be aired in the following weeks, on April 8 and 15, in the afternoon drama slot at 14:15 BST.

Neil Stuke stars as Billy Lamb, Head of Shoe Lane Chambers, in the BBC One drama, which is now in its third series.

The show sees Maxine Peake and Rupert Penry-Jones play barristers applying for "silk" - when a barrister is made a Queen's Counsel.

Last November, it was named best TV drama series by the Writers' Guild of Great Britain.

Silk follows in the footsteps of Scandinavian TV series Borgen, which was adapted for BBC Radio 4 last year after the political drama became a cult hit.
