Undercover cop comedy 22 Jump Street has topped the UK box office for a second week running.

The sequel to 21 Jump Street, which sees Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum reprise their roles as bumbling detectives, took £2.25m.

Angelina Jolie film Maleficent held firm at number two in its third week on the chart, taking £1.5m with X-Men: Days of Future Past in third place.

The highest new entry was horror film Oculus, which went straight in at five.

The film stars former Doctor Who star, Karen Gillan.

Other new entries included Belle, inspired by the true story of Dido Elizabeth Belle, the illegitimate mixed race daughter of Admiral Sir John Lindsay, who is raised by her aristocratic great uncle, Lord Mansfield.

The historical drama entered the chart at number six.

Devil's Knot, starring Colin Firth and Reese Witherspoon, was also a new entry at nine. The film is based on the true story of the murder of three young boys in West Memphis, Arkansas, in 1993, and the search for their killers.
