Hamilton musical cast deliver message to Mike Pence, Vice President-elect

The cast of the Broadway musical Hamilton have called on US Vice President-elect Mike Pence to reassure Americans fearful of the incoming administration.

Mr Pence was in the audience but was booed by other theatregoers.

At the end of the show, actor Brandon Victor Dixon delivered a message saying:

“We are the diverse America, who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us."

The message was reportedly penned by the show's writers when they learned that Mr Pence planned to attend.
