Jamie Lynn Spears has left I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, the ITV show has said.

A spokesperson said Britney Spears' younger sister had exited the jungle on medical grounds, but gave no details.

"She's been a fantastic campmate who has triumphed at trials and bonded well with her fellow celebrities," ITV said.

The singer and actress is the second star to leave early for medical reasons following the exit of restaurant critic Grace Dent earlier this week.

Jamie Lynn's last appearance on the show will be on Wednesday, ITV confirmed.

At the start of the show, presenter Declan Donnelly told viewers she was "doing fine and she goes away with our best wishes".

Last week the 32-year-old considered quitting as she told her campmates she was finding it difficult being so far away from family.

During the show, Jamie Lynn also discussed her strained relationship with Britney, who she said she had talked with before entering the jungle.

"She's a good big sister, she is. Yeah, I love her… Me and her throw down. The world's seen that," she said.

"I've learned to stop talking about it publicly, but you know what, families fight. Listen, we just do it better than most."

She also talked about falling pregnant aged 16, and how she became a Catholic after her daughter survived an accident when she nearly drowned in a family pond.

This year, Jamie Lynn starred in the film Zoey 102, a sequel to noughties Nickelodeon sitcom she acted in, Zoey 101. She also appeared on US show Dancing With The Stars.

Ofcom complaints

Her exit comes on the same day broadcast regulator Ofcom said it received 861 complaints over Nella Rose and Fred Sirieix's row which erupted after the First Dates star said he was old enough to be the influencer's father.

Nella later told Fred she found his comments disrespectful because her father died in 2020, and said she no longer wanted to talk to him.

Ofcom also said it received 856 complaints about "alleged racial offence" in relation to Nella's comments during a conversation with Nigel Farage about immigration, which aired on the show a day later.

However, some viewers have suggested, external the backlash towards Nella has been exacerbated by the fact that she is a black woman.

Former contestant and ITV newsreader Charlene White wrote in the i paper:, external "As a woman and a minority, [Nella] was facing a double dose of prejudicial language" for "perhaps overreacting to a situation".

ITV has been contacted for comment about the complaints.
