How safe are England's hospitals?

Chief Inspector of Hospitals, Sir Mike Richards, is recommending that Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (which includes Addenbrookes) should be taken out of special measures following a Care Quality Commission inspection.

Following what the CQC are calling "significant improvements", the trust is now rated as Good. With so many hospitals facing a bed and staffing crisis, Sir Mike Richards tell the Today programme the whole NHS is under strain.
