Welsh paramedics providing prescriptions

Some paramedics in Wales are now able to write medical prescriptions for patients with minor medical conditions.

It's said that 'prescribing paramedics' can help take pressure off NHS services.

They can treat people for things like sore throats, ears and coughs in their own homes and at doctors' surgeries.

It means doctors have more time to treat other, more complex medical cases and fewer ambulances queueing outside hospitals.

The BBC went to Cardiff and LLanelly in Wales to see how the project has been working.
