Royal wedding: Fashion in pictures
The most anticipated outfit of the royal wedding day was, of course, Catherine Middleton's. She wore an ivory wedding gown, with long lace sleeves and a deep neckline, designed by Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen.
The Telegraph's fashion director, Hilary Alexander, hailed the gown's design "the Wedding Dress of the Century."
But after THE dress, the real show stopper at the wedding was the fabulous headwear. Mother of the bride Carole Middleton, the Queen and the Duchess of Cornwall all opted to wear hats.
Princess Anne also topped off her brightly-coloured floral coat and purple dress with dramatic headwear.
As did the princess's daughter, Zara Phillips, who was wearing an outfit by Paul Costelloe.
Sisters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie both sported intriguing designs. Many of the royal hats were designed by celebrated milliner Philip Treacy.
Socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson wore a royal blue outfit by by Deborah Milner, with matching hat, gloves and shoes.
Sophie Winkleman, Lady Frederick Windsor, also sported a Treacy creation.
Prime Minister David Cameron's wife Samantha, dressed in a Burberry teal dress, broke with tradition and wore a sparkly hair clip.
Prince Harry's friend Chelsy Davy also went for a bright colour, with an aqua green Alberta Ferretti outfit.
Among the celebrity guests, Victoria Beckham wore a dress of her own design and a hat by Philip Treacy, while husband David wore a Ralph Lauren suit.
Among the other choices of headwear was the 'fascinator' - a feathered hair accessory - sported by Sally Bercow, wife of House of Commons Speaker John Bercow.
Miriam Gonzalez Durantez, wife of Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, topped off her outfit with an exotic orange floral hat.
While Lady Amelia, Lady Eliza and Lady Kitty, the daughters of Earl Spencer - the late Diana, Princess of Wales's brother - also contributed to the impressive show of headwear in Westminster Abbey.
Pippa Middleton, Catherine's younger sister and bridesmaid, also attracted attention for her dress sense. Here she is on her way to attending the wedding party on Saturday evening.
