Lightning storms: Your pictures from around the UK
- Published
Following high temperatures on Friday, thunderstorms struck most parts of the UK throughout the night.
Some BBC News website readers managed to take photographs capturing the lightning flashes.
Here are some of your pictures:

Claire Dilger took this picture of a lightning flash across the sky in Folkestone, Kent.

Stewart Mackellar was in Ellesmere, Shropshire when he noticed "stormy skies producing some fierce forked lightning over the Mere."

James Schofield was at home in Bexleyheath when he saw lightning almost dancing on the rooftops.

Stuart Edwards took this from an upstairs window at home in Kent, he said: "We live in an oast house, so we were a little worried about it being struck - but it seemed the lightning preferred something on the village field instead."

And Gareth John Swift captured the moment the storm was developing overhead in Harold Wood, Essex.
