Your pictures: Laundry
- Published

Each week, we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week it is "laundry", and we begin with this picture taken in Varanasi, India, by Meghan Moyer.

Pete Edmunds: "A perfect day for drying towels on the line - became a day of April showers in Cheshire. Perfect for staying indoors and photographing the scene - complete with stone patio, garden and shed."

Kaliannan Shanmugasundaram captured a monk washing his clothes early one morning near a temple in Thailand.

Mike Hodgson: "I took this with a friend in a launderette near Russell Square in London, with a panoramic pinhole camera. We didn't mean to include the lady on the right, but I think it completes the photo."

Berenice London: "It started raining during the siesta and I forgot to take my bright yellow green T-shirt in. When the rain stopped for a while, I went outside and the T-shirt seemed to glow in front of the garden wall. Taken in Mendoza, Argentina."

Thomas Ley: "This is a photograph taken in my back yard in Doncaster. I don't know where the dusters came from as my wife only uses them occasionally. We have been married for 56 years and I hope she doesn't read this."

Lola Claeys Bouuaert: "This image represents Beirut to me. Balcony facades are alive with people, laundry, striped awnings, plants etc..."

John Sorensen: "An Amish housewife hanging laundry to dry on a rare warm January day in Allen County Indiana."

Wouter Tenbroek: "I don't have a clothes dryer so during cooler and wetter months it can be challenging to dry clothes outside. This picture is of my woollies hand wash, mainly my husband's socks. It was taken during autumn after a long spell of rain, on a beautiful sunny day in Cambieure (South of France) and I took the opportunity to wash my woollens."

Steve Lawson: "A picture of my wife, Clare, hanging out the washing when our garden was flooded."

Jan Ferguson: "How to confuse a greyhound. Molly’s toys needed a wash and so went through the washing machine. She couldn’t work out why they were all hanging on the line as she couldn’t quite reach them."

Claudia Polli: "Colourful laundry at 2,500m. This photo was taken during a three-day hike with my mum and sister through the Brenta Dolomites in northern Italy and shows the laundry line of one of the mountain cabins where we stayed overnight."

Salwa Khan: "My kitten Dahlia watching a programme on her 'TV'. I took these pictures in the kitchen at my home. I took this using my mobile phone."

Michael Levack: "Airing our dirty laundry in public. Our first fight as a couple at Dunnottar Castle in Aberdeenshire."

Martin Sindelar: "Festina Lente! Rome, Italy."

Jeff Revell: "My old washing machine looking at me on wash day."

Mila Mayer: "Laundry being done at the Dhobi Ghats in Mumbai, where people work and live at the same time. Amazing experience."

And finally, a photograph by Kathy Gehring. The next theme is "steps/stairs", and the deadline for your entries is 21 October. If you would like to enter, send your pictures to yourpics@bbc.co.uk. Further details and terms can be found by following the link below this gallery.
