Israeli police clashed with protesters in Jerusalem after parliament adopted a controversial law to limit the Supreme Court's powers. The planned reforms have triggered some of the biggest protests in Israel's history. On Monday, at least 22 people were arrested, police said.

More than 50 pilot whales died as wildlife officers raced to save dozens more, after a mass stranding at Cheynes Beach, Western Australia. Once the whales had began beaching themselves on the shore, authorities launched an emergency response, in a bid to save them.
