Mum Sally Oliver would like to know how the candidates are going to improve our local parks and build more safe spaces for children and teenagers to go to as she believes this would prevent them hanging around on our streets.

The new constituency of Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes will definitely be one to watch in this general election.
It’s made up of two former constituencies, one of them being Great Grimsby which was a safe Labour seat for decades until the Conservatives took it in 2019.
The Conservative candidate who was elected back then, Lia Nici, is standing again for election this year as is the former Labour MP, Melanie Onn, who lost her seat to the Tories in 2019.
The Conservatives will be watching the general election results closely as they come in because, in the local elections back in May, they lost control of North East Lincolnshire Council.
Recently, one of their Conservative councillors, Oliver Freeston, defected to Reform UK and he’s now standing as their parliamentary candidate.
National issues such as the NHS, the economy and immigration will, of course, all resonate with people living in the area but local issues such as jobs, water pollution, housing and coping with the cost of living are also key areas that they’d like their elected MP to deal with.
A new council-led campaign called ‘Find Your Space’ has just been launched in North East Lincolnshire highlighting the benefits of living and working here. It wants to encourage skilled people and businesses to consider relocating to the area.
The fish processing industry and the renewables sector are big recruiters but some young people still choose to move away to seek job opportunities elsewhere.
And, despite the area receiving large amounts of levelling up funding, people will still be looking to their elected MP to bring investment to North East Lincolnshire.
It will be interesting to see where people place their votes and which way the political tide will turn in this new constituency of Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
Your Voice, Your Vote will put your stories and questions at the heart of our general election coverage.

Ross Martinelli teaches politics and history at Franklin College.
Ross is part of an open water swimming club in Grimsby and he would like to know what the candidates are going to do to ensure water companies stop polluting our rivers, lakes and coastlines.

Julie Pilsworth is registered blind and a wheelchair user. She is a full-time carer for her 26-year-old son who is on the autistic spectrum and has ADHD and epilepsy.
Julie asks what the candidates are going to do to ensure more accessible housing is available for disabled people.
She also wants to know how they’re going to help improve financial support for carers like herself.
The three candidates taking part in the debate were invited to tell us a little bit about themselves:
Oliver Freeston - Reform UK
I have been a lifelong resident of Cleethorpes, deeply rooted in the community I love.
I have a strong track record of representing residents and addressing their local concerns.
Active in politics since the age of 15, I made history as the youngest councillor in the country at 18.
Recently, I left the Conservative Party to join Reform UK, as I believe that its policies are what the country needs to move forward. Country comes before Party every single time.
Neither major party, in my view, offers credible, community-focused policies and as a young, passionate advocate for change, I am eager to challenge the established order.
Lia Nici - Conservatives
Grimsby-born Lia Nici attended Healing and Whitgift secondary schools.
She worked in the TV industry before becoming a lecturer at the Grimsby Institute and launched the UK’s first digital local TV channel, Estuary TV.
Lia is also an experienced businesswoman working in the creative and heritage sectors.
She entered politics as a ward councillor for Scartho, Grimsby before being elected MP for Great Grimsby in December 2019.
She has served as Parliamentary aide at DCMS and to the Prime Minister. She also served for a time as a Government Minister and Whip, but she prefers the role of backbencher.
Melanie Onn - Labour
Melanie Onn was born, raised and lives in the constituency.
She started out on the Nunsthorpe and Grange Estates and attended Healing School and Franklin College.
Having previously represented Great Grimsby as an opposition MP, Melanie helped bring significant investment to the area and changed the law to back family carers.
Melanie is well-known across the constituency for being approachable, accessible and giving a voice to those who often go unheard.
Melanie has been a strong voice in the growing renewable energy industry and has worked extensively to promote the industry in Grimsby and Cleethorpes.
Butcher Gary Burke would like to know what the candidates are going to do to tackle illegal immigration.
Josie Moon works as a manager for a community group on the East Marsh estate in Grimsby.
She would like to know what the candidates are going to do to help the growing number of people within our local communities who are living in poverty.
Since the last election there has been a review and redrawing of parliamentary constituencies.
The Boundary Commission for England made the amendments to try to make constituencies roughly equally-sized in terms of the number of voters living in them.
The new Great Grimsby and Cleethorpes seat has parts of two constituencies welded together.
The former Great Grimsby area has added the local council wards of Croft Baker, Haverstoe and Sidney Sussex wards and has lost Scartho. The previous Cleethorpes seat has been abolished, with the town of Cleethorpes moved into the new constituency and the remaining parts now in the new Brigg and Immingham seat.

BBC East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire Political Editor Tim Iredale is hosting the discussion with three of the candidates.

The other candidates were invited to take part but were unable to attend.
