  1. Def Leppard guitarist pulls out of tourpublished at 16:27

Def Leppard's guitarist Vivian Campbell has been forced to miss the opening dates of the band's summer tour after his cancer returned.

Campbell, 52, announced two years ago that he was getting chemotherapy for Hodgkin's lymphoma, which affects the lymphatic system.

The musician, from Northern Ireland, had been in remission - but updated fans about his condition on Saturday on Facebook.

Trixter guitarist Steve Brown, who filled in for Campbell during his previous treatments, will once again serve as his replacement.

The band start their tour tomorrow night in Florida.

If you were out on Friday night, you might have missed dance act Rudimental premiering a new song on Annie Mac's Radio 1 show.

Rumour Mill features the vocal talents of the band's longtime collaborator and touring partner Anne-Marie, alongside newcomer Will Heard.

The song is smoother and subtler than the likes of Feel The Love and Waiting All Night, showcasing a new direction for the band's second album, We the Generation, which is out in September.

  5. Janet Jackson unveils comeback singlepublished at 15:05

    Janet JacksonImage source, PA

Janet Jackson's not released a single since 2010's Nothing - a song that did absolutely that on the charts.

But she's reconnected with her old mentors/producers, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis for a comeback, and the results are much more promising.

The first single, No Sleep, is a slinky, slow-burner in the tradition of That's The Way Love Goes, with Janet in full-on seductress mode.

It's just popped up on YouTube, ahead of a rumoured performance, external at next weekend's BET Awards.

  9. Ed Sheeran sets new chart recordpublished at 09:52

    Ed SheeranImage source, Reuters

Jason Derulo has the number one single (again) and Muse have the number one album (again). So you have to look a bit harder to find an interesting story in this week's Top 40.

And there it is, at number 28. Ed Sheeran's Thinking Out Loud has spent 52 consecutive weeks on the chart - the first single ever to do so.

That's thanks to the ballad's enduring popularity on streaming services, where it was the 19th most-played track of last week.

Other songs have had longer non-consecutive runs, notably Frank Sinatra's My Way, which spent 75 weeks in the Top 40 between April 1969 and September 1971.
