    Empire magazine conducted one of the final interviews with James Horner - just two weeks before his untimely death in a plane crash this morning.

    In it, he talks about the confidence he had in Titanic, when the rest of Hollywood predicted it would be a disaster, and the battles James Cameron had over Avatar.

    He also describes Braveheart as one of his favourite scores - although not for the reasons you'd expect.

    Lianne La Havas may still be most famous as the woman whose living room Prince sequestered to announce his UK tour in 2014 - but she's about to change all that with the release of her second album. 

    Blood boasts a blissed-out, loved-up soul sound inspired by her collaborations with the likes of Stevie Wonder and Prince himself.

    Ahead of her appearance at the Glastonbury Festival this weekend, she's released a slinky new single, What You Won't Do.  

    A love letter to a partner who refuses to play games, it finds the 25-year-old singing: "I know you love me. I don't need proof."

    Author JoJo Moyes has delivered dozens of best-sellers to her fans - including the chart-topping The One Plus One, which is currently being turned into a movie.

    Accordingly, she receives a large volume of fan mail... Even when the address label isn't quite up to scratch.

    This morning, she tweeted a photo of a package addressed to "JoJo Moyes, Famous author, A farm somewhere" which Royal Mail had managed to post through her letterbox.

    Pop star Jessie J has revealed she's taking time out to recover after undergoing surgery for an undisclosed condition. 

    The 27-year-old shared a video on Instagram of herself lying in her hospital bed after the operation earlier today, writing: "I had an operation yesterday so need to rest.

    "I won't be saying what for. It's personal. I just wanted to explain to my fans why I may go awol for a minute.

    "Just know I am OK."

    The singer was diagnosed with a heart condition as a child, and suffered a stroke when she was 18.

    Fellow composer Marco Beltrami, whose scores include The Hurt Locker and 3:10 To Yuma, said:

    Despite his stellar career, James Horner only won two Oscars - both for his work on Titanic.

    Antonio Banderas presented him with the award for original dramatic score; while Madonna handed over the trophy for best original song - which Horner shared with My Heart Will Go On co-writer Will Jennings.

    More tributes are coming in to Titanic composer James Horner, who died in a small aircraft crash earlier this morning.

    Fellow composer Alan Menken, whose scores include Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin said:

    A film isn't a film these days unless it has a colon. The Avengers: Age of Ultron; Mad Max: Fury Road; The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. 

    So it is with great relief that we can announce that Roland Emmerich (pictured above) has added a subclause to the title of his much-anticipated Independence Day sequel. 

    The film is now officially called Independence Day: Resurgence. There's even a trailer to announce it. Seriously.

    Emmerich made the announcement at a press conference overnight, where he also confirmed the film would be set 20 years after the Will Smith-starring original.

    Once again, it will see humanity banding together to fight off a wave of alien invaders.  

    Jeff Goldblum returns as scientist David Levinson; while Liam Hemsworth plays an astronaut, Jessie Usher plays Will Smith's son and Sela Ward plays the (female) President of the United States.

    James Horner died when the small aircraft he was piloting crashed in California. 

    The news was confirmed by his assistant Sylvia Patrycja on Facebook, who wrote " he died doing what he loved., external "

    In fact, the composer even wrote a theme tune for the an aerial aerobatic group, called The Horsemen.
