Not really, of course... It's just a scene from his upcoming thriller The Revenant.

Based on a true story, the film follows a frontiersman who is attacked by a bear and left for dead. After struggling through a vicious winter, he sets off to exact vengeance on the hunting team who abandoned him.

Directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu - whose film Birdman picked up four Oscars earlier this year - The Revenant is adapted from a novel by Michael Punke.

Watch the trailer below (but not if you're squeamish).

  3. Tori Kelly: 'YouTube has changed the music industry'published at 16:25

    Tori KellyImage source, Virgin EMI

Singer Tori Kelly has been hovering around the fringes of the music industry for a long time. She started singing aged three, and eight years later, won the TV talent show America's Most Talented Kid.

After a brief stint on American Idol in her teens (Simon Cowell said her powerhouse vocals were "almost annoying"), she established a gigantic fanbase on YouTube, with John Legend, Pink and Ed Sheeran amongst her most famous supporters.

Her debut album charted at number two in the States earlier this year and, with it poised to do the same in the UK, the 22-year-old popped in to BBC Breakfast to explain how YouTube has turned the music business on its head.

"There's a new model now," she said. "It's almost backwards.

"I started with the fanbase before radio, before the [record] label. You start with these amazing fans, and they're the ones out there pushing for you."

  5. Matt Damon explains 'closet' commentspublished at 13:49

Matt Damon and Ellen DeGeneresImage source, Michael Rozman / Warner Bros

Matt Damon got into hot water over the weekend, after he appeared to say gay actors should stay in the closet for the good of their careers.

Here's his quote, as given to The Observer, external

    Quote Message

I think you're a better actor the less people know about you period. And sexuality is a huge part of that. Whether you're straight or gay, people shouldn't know anything about your sexuality because that's one of the mysteries that you should be able to play.

After the interview was published on Sunday, the star appeared on Ellen DeGeneres' chat show, external. The comedian suggested his comments had been "twisted around" and asked if his comments had been taken "out of context".

Damon appeared to suggest his quote had been deliberately mis-interpreted by journalists, saying: "In the blogosphere, there’s no real penalty for just taking the ball and running with it. You know what I mean? You’re just trying to click on your thing."

He then gave a fuller explanation of his comments.

    Quote Message

I was just trying to say actors are more effective when they’re a mystery, right? And somebody picked it up and said I said gay actors should get back in the closet. Which is, like... I mean it’s stupid, but it is painful when things get said that you don’t believe.

Elizabeth later noted the furore over her interview on Twitter.

  6. No more Exorcist movies - guaranteedpublished at 13:16

    The Exorcist billboard

The Exorcist is commonly hailed as the best horror movie ever made (just ask Mark Kermode, external) - so fans are understandably protective of the film's legacy.

Attempts at sequels have been met with scorn, not least from director William Friedkin. And when movie website Deadline reported, external at the weekend that film company Morgan Creek was "tossing around ideas" for a remake, he took to Twitter in protest.

  10. The painting that took 50,000 hours to createpublished at 12:01

    Ben Johnson's artwork

British painter Ben Johnson spent a breathtaking 50,000 hours creating his depiction of part of the Alhambra in Granada, 'Patio de Los Arrayanes'.

Besides practicing meditation, Mr Johnson said a difficult childhood had resulted in an ability to maintain concentration for prolonged periods.

"Concentration brings about an extraordinary stability in one's life, and many of us come from less stable backgrounds than we would have liked," he told David Sillito.

    The X FilesImage source, Fox

It's not on the air until January, but the publicity campaign for The X-Files revival is slowly getting into gear.

We've already had a couple of stills from the production and a brief teaser , external- but last night the show got two (two!) trailers on US network Fox, during the latest episodes of Gotham and Minority Report.

They feature a couple of nods to the old show: Mulder (David Duchovny) destroys the "I Want To Believe" poster that used to hang in his office; while a lingering shot of a cigarette hints at the return of the mysterious Smoking Man.

But it seems the six-episode series will also tackle new themes - with shots of drones and references to the NSA.

One fan has stitched the two promos together on YouTube. Watch below.
