  8. Emily(s) Bluntpublished at 11:30

Just days after apologising to Americans who were offended when she suggested that she regretted her US citizenship, actress Emily Blunt has put her foot in it again.

In September, following a Republican party candidate debate, she jokingly said:

    Quote Message

"I became an American citizen recently, and that night we watched the Republican debate, and I thought, 'This was a terrible mistake. What have I done?'

She subsequently said sorry: "It was just an off-hand joke. I think I'll probably leave the political jokes to [talk show] Late Night or something."

Now, in an interview with The Sunday Times Style supplement she apparently said of her citizenship:

"It's mainly for tax reasons... I didn't want to renounce my Queen."

    Oops.

Michael Fassbender has reportedly had a light-hearted dig at a fellow actor who also tackled the part of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

While speaking at a press conference for the new Danny Boyle film Steve Jobs at the New York Film Festival on Saturday, he was asked how he prepared for the film.

“I studied Ashton Kutcher,” he replied, referring to Kutcher's critically-reviled biopic Jobs, which was released in 2013.

Luckily for Fassbender, his portrayal is being well-received with many predicting he will be a shoe-in for a best actor nomination come awards season.

Although Fassbender isn't an exact physical match for the late Apple exec, the actor said Boyle wasn't concerned.

"That was the first thing I said to Danny. I said: ‘Christian Bale looks a lot more like Steve Jobs than me.’

“He wasn’t interested in that - he wanted to get the energy and essence of the man and go with that.”
