    Plans to create extra secondary school places in Coventry at a cost of £26m are being drawn up by the city council.

    A report said it was necessary to meet future demand, with an extra 240 Year Seven places potentially created by September 2019.

    The proposal will go before the council's cabinet for discussion early next year.

    The council has already secured £13.84m from the government and is expecting to receive further allocations.

    West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner David Jamieson has said it’s time to accept “we have lost the war on drugs”.

    He is calling for an "adult conversation" on the subject, saying addicts should be treated as people with a health problem, rather than criminals. He also says there needs to be discussion about decriminilisation.
